Are you an experienced fundraising professional looking for your next challenge? Help us to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured by joining us in this exciting new role.
Our science holds the solution. At CRUK, our pioneering research has helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound, every hour and every person, and our 3,500 people work relentlessly every day towards this goal.
CRUK has worked in partnership in Manchester with the University of Manchester and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust for a decade, developing a track record of success with patients at the core.
Our shared vision in Manchester is for a purpose-built, state-of-the-art research facility, replacing the Paterson building in Manchester city centre which was destroyed by fire in April 2018. This facility will house our collective expertise, accelerate our strategy and leverage our notable success to date. The multi-disciplinary hub will drive research innovation, attract and retain the brightest talent, and attract commercial interest from the world’s largest pharmaceutical partners.
This facility will lead to more patients gaining access to clinical trials, fast-forwarding our progress in improving patient outcomes and survival.
The post holder will co-ordinate CRUK’s fundraising work for the development in Manchester. This includes developing and delivering a fundraising strategy and building key relationships with our partners.
About the role
The post holder will be a member of the Philanthropy & Campaign team at CRUK, which provides a first-class experience to supporters giving between £1,000 and £3m+ to the organisation. They will also work closely with other fundraising teams within the charity, and will focus on:

What’s in it for you?
This is an exciting time to join Cancer Research UK as our high value fundraising teams grow. This role will also allow you the opportunity to engage with our supporters and help them to develop a meaningful and important connection to the charity. Our benefits package includes excellent annual leave and pension allowances along with additional discounts on a variety of lifestyle subscriptions and events. And ultimately, you’ll know that you’ll be changing lives through your work.
We would like to encourage as wide a range of applications as possible. Potential applicants are warmly invited to discuss the role further, if they do not feel they meet all of the person specification but that they may have transferable skills.
At CRUK we value diversity and we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures and believe that a diverse workforce will help us to beat cancer sooner.
