Events Manager (12 Month Fixed-Term)


Salary: Circa £29,750 inclusive of London Weighting + excellent benefits

Contract length: 12 month FTC

Location: Angel, London

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate yet level-headed and organised individual to help deliver a jam-packed schedule of events here at Cancer Research UK.


You will understand the power of face to face communications and be confident presenting and speaking to supporters. You will have experience of organising events, being hands-on when it comes to set-up and working in a busy team with multiple projects happening simultaneously. You will have a keen eye for detail, be a good communicator, able to write effective copy for emails, letters and presentations but will also not be afraid to pick up the phone and speak to supporters or suppliers when appropriate.

Gifts in Wills, also known as Legacy gifts fund over a third of our research. You will be a valuable member of a dynamic Events team delivering a varied schedule of events for the Legacy Department. We are a driven and motivated group of people who thrive as part of a team while we deliver a very busy but varied events programme which includes Lab tours, concerts, stands at conferences and shows as well as engagement events where we take our science to our supporters. So one day you could be working on the stand at a large scale conference or show and the next organising an afternoon tea with some supporters.

  • proven event management experience, delivering varied event formats to different audiences

  • willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the UK with some unsocial working hours on a regular basis.
