National Marketing Manager

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 p.a. + excellent benefits

Contract length: Permanent

Location: Home based or Angel based

About us

At Cancer Research UK we have big ambitions. We want to double the pace of progress so that 3 in 4 people will survive cancer by 2034. But without any government funding we rely heavily on our brilliant supporters, including all the people who fundraise for Race For Life and our other events. Join us as our National Marketing Manager and you will play a key role in ensuring our participant and fundraising targets are met.

About the role

As National Marketing Manager you’ll support the delivery of a fully integrated national and regional marketing campaign for our mass participation event series, including Race for Life, to ensure that our participant and income targets are met.

Make an impact every day by...

  • Inspiring and motivating a team of Area Marketing Managers to deliver great regional marketing campaigns
  • Project managing regional marketing campaigns for new and existing mass participation events products
  • Ensuring regional marketing campaigns and activity are merged, and maximising national campaigns through providing marketing expertise and guidance to Area Marketing Managers
  • Regularly analysing, measuring and evaluating all regional marketing activity
  • Being accountable for all regional marketing budgets and procedures
  • Working alongside creative agencies to ensure the smooth running of the Race for Life and all other mass participation marketing campaigns.

About you

No two days will be the same in this diverse role so you’ll need to be highly organised and agile to meet key priorities. Your confident communication and relationship building skills will be key to negotiate with and influence a wide range of people, both internally and externally.

To take on this exciting challenge, you’ll have...

  • A solid understanding and knowledge of marketing a national product at a local level
  • Excellent understanding of regional media
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of marketing and promotion
  • Experience of managing marketing creative process from development through to production
  • Experience of managing external agencies and sponsors
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team.
