N.B. This is a role within the National Cancer Research Institute, which is hosted by Cancer Research UK.

Following a review of operational support and recent staff changes the NCRI is recruiting a talented candidate who is ready to fill an exciting and challenging role as Operations Manager. Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Executive, supporting our Board of Trustees and helping build and maintain relationships with our Partners. You would be joining us at an exciting time at NCRI as we embark on a new five-year strategy which is focussed on accelerating progress in cancer-related research through collaboration.

The post holder will manage the following operational areas:

* recruitment
* finance
* relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and internal teams within the host organisation (including oversight of effective SLAs, KPIs and process guides)
* line management of the Operations Coordinator and Management Accountant.

This role is well suited to an energetic, flexible and proactive manager who is a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills, used to applying their initiative to deliver improvements, and values being part of a close knit team. The successful applicant will join a team committed to NCRI’s purpose of improving health and quality of life by accelerating progress in cancer-related research through collaboration.

You will be able to demonstrate proven effectiveness in managing the development and implementation of new processes through your superior communication skills, understanding of implementing change, and ability to develop and maintain good internal and external relationships. You will have a sound understanding of the principles and practice of human resource management, as well as practical experience of finance and project management.

This exciting and varied role would suit an experienced manager looking to develop further their experience and leadership skills within a collaborative environment which values dynamism, professionalism and integrity.
