Patient Involvement Manager
(Aligned to Fundraising and Technology)
Contract: Maternity cover (circa 12 months fixed term contract), full time
Location: Stratford (with occasional travel)
Salary: Circa £33k - £38k + benefits

We're looking for a self-motivated and sharp-minded individual with experience of Public & Patient Involvement to help us bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
Patients are at the heart of CRUK. Everything we do at CRUK is about improving outcomes for patients, so we think it's important that we involve people affected by cancer in our work. As Patient Involvement Manager (Fundraising and Technology), you will play a leading role in helping us achieve our vision of being a truly patient-centred organisation. We want to ensure patients are involved in every area of our activity that their experience of cancer can add value. In this role you'll use your comprehensive knowledge of Public and Patient Involvement to embed and drive patient involvement in our Fundraising and Technology directorates' work.
What will I be doing?
We're looking for an experienced individual to:
Take strategic responsibility for the delivery of a programme of activity to increase high-value patient involvement in the work of our Fundraising and Technology directorates.
Build and manage relationships with a broad range of teams, working collaboratively to embed patient involvement in their work.
Raise awareness of the value of patient involvement to CRUK staff by developing and delivering a range of engagement activities, such as team workshops, presentations and internal communications.
Tactically influence senior leaders to embed patient involvement in strategies and senior decision-making.
Ensure that people affected by cancer who engage with CRUK have a consistently positive and inspiring experience of the charity.
Matrix manage the Involvement Officers to deliver high quality patient involvement projects.

Knowledge of patient and public involvement best practice ideally in relation to healthcare or health/medical research
Experience of designing, implementing and evaluating patient involvement activities
Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify and leverage new opportunities to increase patient involvement activity within an organisation
Effective influencing skills and proven track record of building collaborative relationships using diplomacy, tact and tenacity
