Research Grants Officer - India-UK Cancer Research Initiative

Salary: Circa £27,000 p.a. pro rata inclusive of London Weighting + excellent benefits

Contract length: 18 months

Location: Angel, London (we appreciate not everyone has the same working needs and are happy to support flexible / part-time working arrangements where possible)

Do you have an interest in international research?

Cancer Research UK have recently launched a joint 5-year research initiative with the Indian government's Department of Biotechnology, focused on the development of affordable approaches to cancer.

You will play a key role in the delivery of this initiative and will work closely with both our implementation partners in India and the UK research community to provide support and expertise for the pre and post award funding processes, in line with CRUK's funding policies. You will also be responsible for supporting the initiative's Advisory Panel as well as events and communications for the initiative.

We are looking for a Research Grants Officer to…

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our partners in India

  • Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager to support the grants awards process

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for Advisory Panel meetings

  • Raise awareness of the initiative through communications and engagement with research communities both in India and the UK

  • Support on the design and delivery of workshops in India and the UK.

  • Understanding of academic research and experience of research grants management

  • Ability to develop and innovate new ways of working

  • Ability to write concise and engaging communications including reports, briefings, papers and minutes for a range of audiences

  • Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management and intercultural skills

  • Ability to work independently and in ambiguous situations

  • Strong communication skills.

If you are solutions focused and adaptable we want to hear from you. You do not have to have had international experience (it's desirable if you do) but an interest and understanding of this landscape is a must.
