We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join us as a Strategic Evidence Officer, supporting our work to influence policy and practice for patient benefit. You'll do this through reviewing, consolidating and disseminating cancer related evidence across the cancer pathway including Diagnosis and Treatment, and other topics as required.

What will I be doing?

Make an impact every day by…

  • Developing a sound knowledge of the research evidence (both peer reviewed and grey literature) and other data & insight relevant to cancer

  • Monitoring and reviewing research evidence and interpreting findings

  • Synthesizing these findings and writing reports on evidence and other content as required

  • Disseminating this evidence knowledge and synthesis to several audiences, both internally and externally

  • Supporting l teams across the charity with developing evidence-based content / resources, and contributing expert input and review.

The Strategic Evidence team strive to ensure evidence is front and centre in our PI&C strategy, policy and activity, with a particular focus on the areas of Early Diagnosis and Treatment. We act as a hub for evidence, assimilating and triangulating evidence from a range of internal and external sources. We bring considered and constructive input and challenge to conversations and decisions, encouraging consideration of all angles and working to ensure that we're directing our efforts in the best way and generating as much impact as possible. We look to the future and horizon scan for interventions and developments that are coming down the track. And we bring our knowledge of the evidence and expertise to crafting content and the creation of a range of outputs, particularly those seeking to support health professionals in their practice.

What skills are you looking for?

You'll be able to bring to the role…

  • Strong evidence searching, reviewing and critical appraisal skills

  • The ability to translate complex information to a wide range of audiences

  • Relevant experience in the science, health or policy sectors

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • The ability to manage your own workload and operate to tight deadlines

  • Experience of building effective working relationships and partnerships with colleagues, health professionals and other stakeholders.
