Job description

Job Title: Director of Finance and Resources

Hours: Full-time / permanent

Salary: £50-55K depending on experience

Location: Flexible / home-based with regular travel to one/both centres

We are working in partnership with Canine Partners, who transform the lives of people with physical disabilities by partnering them with assistance dogs.  Their amazing dogs bring a greater independence and quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks, as well as increasing confidence, social interaction and self-esteem.

The organisation is now seeking a Director of Finance and Resources to join the senior leadership team.  The role will be responsible for providing professional strategic financial direction across the organisation and for exercising effective leadership of the Finance and Resources team.

The successful candidate will need to be a fully qualified accountant and demonstrate the following:

  • At least 5 years relevant senior financial experience in financial and management accounting, strategic plan execution, and best practice delivery
  • A proven people leader able to influence, inspire, collaborate and motivate
  • A successful track record of achievement in supporting strategic plans and objectives through sound financial management
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills to deliver a complex range of conflicting demands across the areas of Finance, IT and Facilities
  • Good knowledge of charity law and reporting, charity governance and the latest charity accounting regulations and standards
