Job description

Can you help primary school children from low income families with English, maths and reading?  At the Cardinal Hume Centre in Victoria, we run a club on Mondays and Fridays during term time, 3.30 - 5.30pm, starting 17th September 2021.

What will you be doing?

Each week, on a Monday or Friday, you will sit with 1 - 2 children and help them with the homework they bring from school.  You will mix with family support staff and other volunteers.

How does this role make a difference?

Homework Club is part of our delivery of child and family support services, in order that low income and vulnerable families have improved access to services, employment opportunities and life chances.

What are we looking for?

  • You are friendly, patient and can build rapport with children easily.
  • Able to help with maths and English at primary school level. 
  • You have some experience of engaging with primary aged children.
  • Desirable – if you have a background in teaching or are doing a course in education than we would love to hear from you.
