Job description

Cardiomyopathy UK is a specialist charity providing information and support to people affected by heart muscle disease, facilitating research, training clinicians and representing the needs of people with the condition and their families. We are looking to appoint new trustees with a view to expanding our skills and developing the future officers of the charity (Chair, Vice Chair etc.) The skills we particularly need are those of fundraising, digital leadership, HR  and those needed for the strategic leadership of the charity.

In this recruitment round, we are particularly keen to appoint people with the skills to represent the needs of people from black and minority communities. Most of our trustees have cardiomyopathy or myocarditis or are family members but we are open to applications from health care professionals or people otherwise committed to our mission.

Meetings are held 5/6 times a year in London and travel  expenses are available. Training will be provided. The time commitment also includes taking leadership on a particular area and those looking to become an officer will have an opportunity to shadow current post holders.

We also have a Children’s and Young People’s panel for 14-25 year olds and 16- 25’s are welcome to apply for either the main board or ask about joining the panel.
