This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated behaviour consultant to support multiple people across Kent to live, love, thrive and belong. Supporting people in their own homes, you will have experience supporting people with a learning disability, autism, and mental health conditions who have also experienced trauma.

The role as the Behaviour Consultant Lead will be to:

• Work closely alongside our support teams to conduct comprehensive assessment, intervention, and evaluations over the long term, developing positive behaviour support plans that enable therapeutic support to be delivered within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework. 
• Deliver PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training to our support teams. 
• Coach our support teams how to deliver excellent support, using approaches such as Active Support. 
• Support the team to develop skills in monitoring and evaluating outcomes, for example using the Periodic Service Review.
• Support the business development team with new referrals, ensuring that we are working within our defined model of support and developing that model to meet new needs where appropriate.
• Work with the families of the people we support to continue to build open, honest, and transparent working relationships.
• Ensure that your work is always delivered through a trauma-informed lens, upskilling the team around you to consider the impact of trauma on their practice.

Our Clinical Assessment & Intervention Team (CAIT)

Led by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst and UKBA(Cert), we have highly specialised team of clinicians, including rehabilitation workers for the visually impaired and behaviour consultants. We assess functional vision and test for cerebral visual impairments, which can often be an overlooked establishing operation for behavioural challenges. As well as direct assessment and intervention to work to increase people’s opportunities in life, we train our support teams to meet the people we supports’ unique needs.  Our team members are committed to joint working with families, support teams and our NHS and local authority colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.

We work as partners with the residential or supported living teams to build plans that are accepted, operationally achievable, generalisable, and sustainable. 

Your experience & personal characteristics 

As you will be working with people in their own homes, residential and group supported living services, you must be confident engaging with diverse groups of people, family members and multi-agency professionals.  You need to be passionate about equality and equity, being able to see the potential for improvement and knowing how to guide the person we support and their team to achieve the best. You will already have experience working directly with people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, multi-sensory impairments, and people who may present behaviours that challenge.  You will be fluent in the use of applied behaviour analysis to devise ways that are simple but effective to measure baseline and on-going development.  You will be able to support our teams by putting plans into action through your direct modelling.

Your qualifications

This position requires a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field (such as Positive Behaviour Support) with at least two years of applicable experience; or Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with one year of professional experience. 

Candidates wishing to work towards their BCBA or UKBA(Cert) qualification will get their supervision as part of this role.

As an Annual Health Practitioner, you will provide support to local health services with their SMI (Severe Mental Illness) clinics. You will be key in shaping this role as the service develops as well as providing support to the core Access Community Mental Health team. The Annual Health Check Practitioner will also provide 1:1 support to encourage and enable people to attend their annual health checks.

Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Team Manager (Young Persons Service) on a permanent basis for two new Ofsted Registered Supported Housing Schemes in Lambeth, due to open in June 2024.

You, as the Team Manager will support a team of Housing Support Workers to support our young customers to remain in their home and take an active part in the community. Both schemes are part of Peabody's well established Young Persons and Complex Needs service in London and will provide temporary housing for young people who are homeless aged between 16 to 17 years. 

These schemes will be supervised 7 days per week, 24 hours per day and are a 15 minute walk from one another.

What we’re looking for:

• Are you experienced in providing support as a senior support worker or as a team manager to people who have experienced trauma and have complex and challenging support needs?
• Do you have any previous experience in the housing support sector and a good knowledge of statutory and community services?

The Hammersmith and Fulham service comprises of one high support hostel and two medium support hostels, housing 24 people experiencing mental ill health who may also have other complex support needs including substance use and offending behaviour or who may present with behaviours which can challenge.

About the role:

The primary role of the project is to enable clients to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. The Project Worker will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.

The projects provide support 24 hours a day and are staffed by a Night Concierge and Project Workers, this requires regular weekend working. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support. Staff are responsible for making sure that clients are actively involved in the process and that the support offered is full and holistic.

About you:

• Demonstrable experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems and other complex needs.
• A demonstrable understanding of Mental Health Legislation and how it can be applied.
• A good understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments related to this.
• A working knowledge of Housing Management as applied to a residential setting, and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with various forms of tenure including excluded licenses.
• A demonstrable understanding of the Recovery Model, and the ability to engage and motivate people to move towards independence and inclusion.
• A proven ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders, particularly community mental health services and/or substance use services.
• A proven ability to create and deliver SMART action plans with clients through high quality risk and needs assessment.

We have 3 contracts available 2 x 30 hours and 1 x 17.5 hours per week 

The opportunity

We are seeking to recruit a Suicide Prevention Therapist to support men in suicidal crisis at our centre in Liverpool. We are looking for an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention. We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our collaborative semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. You will report to a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist.

This appointment is part of our growth as a charity. The successful candidate will join an experienced supportive team and will gradually build a caseload supporting four men in suicidal crisis per day to meet the growth of referral partnerships and increased awareness raising in Liverpool.

The Charity

James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 1500 men and delivered over 7000 sessions of our life-saving intervention. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.   

Building on the success of our centres in Liverpool, London, and Newcastle, we are now expanding our model to reach more men in suicidal crisis. Our aim is to have five centres open across England by 2026.

Essential Qualifications

 A Core Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker registered with NMC, HPC, BASW. A

Psychology Graduate with experience of working as a Psychology Assistant or extensive experience of working within secondary mental health services. A
