A bit about the role
As Registered Manager you will work with a range of professionals, parents and carers in the Derbyshire and East Midlands area to ensure that our children and young people who have a varying level of learning and physical disabilities are supported with a person-centred approach, helping them to develop to their full potential and through the next stage of their life journey.
As Registered Manager you will lead, inspire, and motivate your team to hold the highest aspirations for our children and young people and oversee the running of our 4 bedroom home liaising closely with Ofsted to ensure regulatory compliance and excellence. We will actively support you in your role and provide you and your team with specialist training, development, and supervision.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Some key responsibilities of your role as a Registered Manager will be;
- Establishing a new long stay children's home for children and young people with learning and physical disabilities including the recruitment and induction of a new staff team.
- Providing high quality supportive 1:1 and reflective supervision to direct reports.
- Promoting and delivering the highest standards of safeguarding practice utilising existing processes and best practice to create a safe positive work and service environment.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships and maintain channels of communication with colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies.
- Developing and maintaining effective networks, relationships, partnerships, and contacts to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
- To work closely with Ofsted to ensure we are operating a home that is deemed to be offering each child high quality care through effective leadership and management.

Whilst a management qualification Level 5 would be great, we are open to those with experience in a management role within a residential/social care setting.
- At least 2 years experience in the last 5 years of working in a position relevant to residential childcare and at least 1 years experience in a leadership role.
- Creating an inclusive service, in terms of meeting the needs of the children and establishing a workforce that further enables an inclusive environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the OFSTED requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of working with children with complex needs.
- Experience of leading by example with the application of safeguarding practices and policies.

The role as the Behaviour Consultant Lead will be to:
- Work closely alongside our support teams to conduct comprehensive assessment, intervention, and evaluations over the long term, developing positive behaviour support plans that enable therapeutic support to be delivered within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework.
- Deliver PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training to our support teams.

Our Clinical Assessment & Intervention Team (CAIT)
Led by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst and UKBA(Cert), we have highly specialised team of clinicians, including rehabilitation workers for the visually impaired and behaviour consultants. We assess functional vision and test for cerebral visual impairments, which can often be an overlooked establishing operation for behavioural challenges. As well as direct assessment and intervention to work to increase people’s opportunities in life, we train our support teams to meet the people we supports’ unique needs. Our team members are committed to joint working with families, support teams and our NHS and local authority colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.
We work as partners with the residential or supported living teams to build plans that are accepted, operationally achievable, generalisable, and sustainable.
Your experience & personal characteristics
As you will be working with people in their own homes, residential and group supported living services, you must be confident engaging with diverse groups of people, family members and multi-agency professionals. You need to be passionate about equality and equity, being able to see the potential for improvement and knowing how to guide the person we support and their team to achieve the best. You will already have experience working directly with people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, multi-sensory impairments, and people who may present behaviours that challenge. You will be fluent in the use of applied behaviour analysis to devise ways that are simple but effective to measure baseline and on-going development. You will be able to support our teams by putting plans into action through your direct modelling.
Your qualifications
This position requires a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field (such as Positive Behaviour Support) with at least two years of applicable experience; or Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with one year of professional experience.
Candidates wishing to work towards their BCBA or UKBA(Cert) qualification will get their supervision as part of this role.

Part 1: Job Profile
Main purpose of job
The post-holder will be part of a multi-professional team providing holistic care and support
for children with life-limiting condition and their families. The post-holder will work in
collaboration with the family and other services providing care and support for the family.
The role includes active involvement in the education, training and professional development
of other team members including volunteers.
The Shooting Star Children’s Hospices care service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year. The post holder will be required to work a variety of shifts across the 24 hours.
Band 6 roles will also participate in the on call rota.
Part 2: Main duties and key responsibilities
Main duties and key responsibilities
• Act in accordance with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices policies, guidelines and
standards. To keep up to date with national policies and guidance.
• Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
• Participate in the assessment, care planning and care management of each child and
family receiving care from Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
• Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic,
Evidence-based nursing care. This includes completion of the Shooting Star Children’s
Hospices care competencies
• Liaise with clinical, non-clinical and facilities staff in order to maintain a safe, friendly and
welcoming environment for the children/ young people, families, visitors and staff
• Ensure cleanliness and infection control standards are maintained within the clinical area
taking appropriate action where these standards are not maintained and escalate to
Lead Nurses/ Head of Hospice Services where necessary
• Act as an advocate for the child / young person and family ensuring the provision of
appropriate information and support services
• Ensure effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team,
parents, relatives, visitors and external agencies
• Participate as a team member in the other activities that complete the care cycle, i.e.
laundry, the environment and outings with the young person and their family.

of families receiving a service from Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. To attend
discharge planning, network and review meetings as appropriate. This includes providing
written reports and letters as required.
• Ensure that young people and family feedback and views are brought to the attention of
senior personnel within the care directorate for consideration and to inform service
developments.
• Ensure that any complaints are dealt with in accordance with Shooting Star Children’s
Hospices policy.
• Report any equipment, maintenance or safety issues to the Lead Nurse or Head of
Hospice Services, ensuring that all Shooting Star Children’s Hospices property and
equipment is well looked after and maintained.
• Inform the relevant team member of any ordering required to facilitate good stock control
for all clinical and pharmacy stores.
• Carry out any reasonable duty as requested by the Director of Care / Head of Hospice
Services.

We are currently seeking a dynamic practitioner to join our adult perpetrator service, working predominately with men using violence and abuse within intimate partner and other close family relationships, and working closely alongside integrated victim/survivor support services and partner organisations.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in increasing safety for families who have been impacted by abuse and violence.
Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), a division of Richmond Fellowship since 2018, has been a leading provider of Respect accredited community perpetrator interventions working to stop domestic violence, increase safety for women and children, and reduce harm to families for over 30 years.
In your role you will need an excellent understanding of the nature of domestic abuse/violence and its effects on women and children. You will have relevant experience of providing one-to-one and/or group-work behavioural change interventions, responding robustly and supportively to challenging and harmful behaviour with adults from diverse backgrounds to reduce risk and facilitate change. You will have an excellent understanding of Safeguarding procedures and be confident working both independently and as part of a team, working closely and collaboratively alongside partner agencies such as Victim/Survivor services, Children and Families Services, Offender Management services and more.
You will have opportunity to play a key role in DVIP’s violence prevention services, working in partnerships with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective community responses to domestic abuse, in line with RESPECT practice standards. You will be responsible for risk-managing a caseload of domestic abuse perpetrators, delivering intensive interventions on a one-to-one basis, as well as co-delivering structured group programmes for individuals who have been abusive towards an (ex)partner or family member. You will pro-actively engage those using abuse, conduct interviews to assess risk and suitability for intervention, and coordinate with relevant professional partners to increase safety to victims and children. Day to day, you will work flexibly across a number of locations, including regular days working co-located within Local Authority Children and Families Services, Offender Management services, Substance Misuse services, Health services or other relevant or referring services. In this rewarding role you will also provide specialist DA support to other professionals working with families experiencing abuse, through provision of expert consultations and training delivery.
You will be competent and responsible to work independently and flexibly, including some evenings, within any London Borough where DVIP is contracted (predominantly South London currently), for part of the working week. You will be comfortable managing your own workload and related admin, and you will be able to communicate clearly with a range of people about sensitive and complex issues, including the writing of professional reports.

Pontesbury Project is a local charity providing care and homes to adults with learning difficulties in a caring, fulfilling, meaningful and nurturing environment. The Project now cares for around 16 residents, has 13 properties, and employs around 50 staff who provide high quality, specialist, person centred support to individuals some of whom have severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, many of whom require 1-to-1 support.
