Job Description

Why work for us?

This is a great time to join the Programme Management Team. Our team is at the heart of CARE International UK’s new strategy for the delivery of high quality and impactful programming within CARE and this exciting new role will be central to our success as we move forward. As the team continues to grow its portfolio and develop major new development and humanitarian projects, your role will be essential in providing support on the bidding process, data management and cross-departmental working that will ensure the highest level of project design and implementation is achieved.

About you

You’ll be a motivated and enthusiastic team player, with a passion for development and humanitarian work and committed to working with us to fight against poverty and injustice. Ideal candidates will have a 2:1 in a relevant degree and demonstrate their interest through a previous role or voluntary experience within the sector. You will be organised, reliable, focused and have the ability to prioritise and work independently and with colleagues across teams.  You’ll have a good level of competency with IT systems, data management and financial administration.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting and challenging new role within the Programme Management team. You will support the work of the Programme Management funding leads during the bidding for new development and humanitarian projects across all regions, while also monitoring key management data used to assess effectiveness and efficiency of both our bidding process and the implementation of current portfolio. You will also play a key role in essential cross departmental working, linking with other CARE UK programme technical teams and our CARE country offices located around the globe. You will also gain experience working alongside our Marketing Department to develop good news stories about the great impact our projects are having in the field.

About CARE

CARE International is one of the world's leading humanitarian and development charities. We fight poverty and injustice in the world's most vulnerable places.  Last year we reached more than 63 million people directly through 950 development and humanitarian aid projects. We worked in more than 90 countries, implementing long-term programmes to fight poverty, responding to humanitarian emergencies, and advocating for policy change to improve the lives of the poorest people.

Safeguarding

CARE International UK has a zero tolerance approach to any harm to, or exploitation of, a vulnerable adult or a child by any of our staff, representatives or partners. Recruitment to all jobs in CARE International UK includes, in particular, criminal record checks and the collection of relevant references. Safeguarding our beneficiaries is our top priority in everything we do.
