Caseworker
Forces Employment Charity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Caseworker to join our team working on the CFO (Co-financing Organisation) programme in partnership with the probation service. In this role, you will provide specialist support to veterans within the criminal justice system, focused on early intervention, support and diversion to prevent re-offending. You will work closely with probation staff, partner organisations and lead providers to identify, engage and deliver emotional and practical support to veteran clients.
This is a Full-time 35 hours per week, home based role with regular attendance at Lewisham and Croydon Activity Hubs and frequent travel throughout the UK. This role has a salary £29,000 pa.
This will be a fixed term contract till 31 July 2024.
Role Overview:
For the CFO programme, Forces Employment Charity is working in partnership with probation service staff and other partner organisations to provide specialist support for veterans in the justice system.This support is focused on early intervention, support and diversion at point of contact with justice system in order to prevent re-offending.
The successful applicant will be providing activities and support to clients within a formal contractual framework working to challenging targets.The role holder will need a strong beneficiary focus and the ability to rapidly form relationships with partners and local agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with partners to identify and engage veterans with the CFO Programme.
- Undertake needs assessments with each veteran and jointly develop their support plan.
- Work as part of a team, together with Probation Service Staff and Lead Provider staff, was well as partner organisations providing specialist support.
- Deliver emotional and practical support to veterans working with partner organisations to provide specialist support for each individual as required.
- Work with the veteran to secure employment.
- Optimise the delivery of activities which are separately billed as part of CFO Programme.
- Ensure that all activity is recorded on the MOJ CATs system, or other system as required by the contract.
- Deliver any further activities reasonably required by the Op Nova National Manager or CFO Contract Manager, the Nova National Manager and the Forces Employment Charity.
Essential Competencies:
- Understanding, empathy and knowledge of ex-forces personnel and the challenges they may face.
- Highly motivated and independent, capable of working remotely from their line manager.
- Resilient and able to work with individuals with complex needs and cope with the rigors that arise from working with veterans in the criminal justice system.
- Commitment to working with each veteran without prejudice and in an equitable manner, including those who are arrested for violent or sexual offences.
- Experience of working with people using a mentoring or coaching approach to engage and support the individuals we work with change their lives.
- Experience of working with others as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, organisation and IT/CRM skills.
- Excellent team players who will contribute to a diverse and dedicated team.
- Driving licence and use of own car.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (Enhanced) check and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2 security clearance.

Job Role An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Education Co-ordinator to join our Health & Wellbeing department to lead on the quality assurance and delivery of health and wellbeing training and education programmes.
Working alongside the Health & Wellbeing Manager and Clinical Operations Manager, you will:
- Support the organisational strategic objectives for all Health and Wellbeing services, but with a particular focus on mental health & wellbeing.
- Support the Mental Health & Wellbeing Training Co-ordinator to design, quality assure, and deliver a range of mental health and wellbeing education programmes including staff training, young people or parent workshops, and community events.
- Support the Health & Wellbeing Manager in managing and overseeing the delivery and quality assurance of wider health and wellbeing training such as First Aid and qualifications from YMCA Awards.
- Develop new partnerships and opportunities to educate communities about the health and wellbeing agenda: attending networking events, developing marketing activity, delivering presentations and sourcing funding opportunities.
- Provide effective line management and recruitment of sessional health and wellbeing trainers, ensuring high standards of delivery.
- Support the development and growth of health and wellbeing services whilst meeting annual targets.
- Develop mental health & wellbeing programmes internally and externally for target audiences such as supported housing residents, youth work, family work and workplace wellbeing initiatives.
- Support with the management and monitoring of operational tasks across the health and wellbeing department such as writing reports, data analysis and strategy development.
You will have and be able to demonstrate the following qualities:
- Possess a Level 4 mental health qualification.
- Possess a valid Award In Education; PTTLS qualification; or Qualified Teacher Status.
- Sound knowledge and experience of the children and adults mental health & wellbeing agenda, including local and national initiatives and approaches.
- Sound knowledge and experience of quality assurance tools and processes.
- Proven experience of developing and delivering high quality mental health & wellbeing training and education programmes to adults and young people.
- Proven experience in project management and partnership development.
- Ability to effectively manage time and work well in teams or on your own initiative.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and time management skills.
- Excellent IT and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience.
- A flexible approach to work.
- A current driving licence and access to a car for work.

Employment and Supported Internships
A current and key area of our focus is Employment across London and beyond, we work in close collaboration with a range of stakeholders and commercial partners to deliver supported internships as a pathway to paid employment and a career.
Selected interns undergo a full academic year-long placement in a commercial work setting, gaining valuable work experience and essential employment skills. Throughout the internship, tailored job support and pastoral oversight is provided by Job Coaches and Managers working on-site, in our partnership settings. These currently include a range of hospitals, colleges, and local authorities.
Generate has been building stakeholder partnerships at the forefront of supported employment internships for young people with learning disabilities since 2018. We are proud that an approximately of 70 % of interns transitioned successfully into paid employment. This translates into real change: reducing reliance on services and increasing agency in positive, self-directed outcomes.
As Partnerships Manager, your collaboration with the Employment Manager will lead on the delivery of supported internships. Responsibilities include: managing multi-site projects and a growing team, recruitment and training initiatives, securing funding and fostering key partnerships with local authorities and colleges. Your contribution will be to manage and lead the sustainable growth of our supported internship offerings in alignment with our organisational objectives.
We are seeking a highly skilled business professional to cultivate and nurture these critical relationships. You will have experience of multi-site project management, data analysis and reporting, plus exceptional people management skills. Experience in the employment sector/internships/graduate recruitment would be of interest. A degree in business/marketing/communications or similar preferred.
