Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding part time, term time only role working with young people?  Starting in the autumn term,  Lambeth Young Carers will be setting up a new homework club for young carers aged 11 - 16.  The club will be based at our offices in Brixton and will run once a week on a Tuesday afternoon from 4pm - 6pm.  You will be required to work 10 hours per week in total, including the 2 hour homework club.  The hours can be worked flexibly around the homework club which is fixed. 

As the Homework Club Coordinator you will create a friendly, quiet and welcoming environment for the young carers to complete their homework and think positively about their education.   You will be on hand to offer support and identify any young carers who may benefit from more intensive one to one support.   

You will be the main point of contact for the project, liaising with schools, accepting new referrals, carrying out 1:1 appointments to support young carers with creating an individual learning plan as well as collecting and collating data to support project reporting.    

The Young Carers Team will support and in particular you will be working closely with our with our Schools Project Officer, who will also be supporting 11-16 year olds in schools, and with the wider young carers team.   

Please note this post is term time only.
