Contract, Part-time
Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding part time, term time only role working with young people?  Funded by Sir Walter St John, our homework club runs every Tuesday between 4.30-6.30pm during term-time and is a place where young carers aged 11 - 16 can complete their homework in a supportive environment outside the classroom and away from any distractions at home.   While in lockdown, we are running the club online and offering one to one support using video calls, online project management software and telephone calls.  You will be required to work 10 hours per week in total, including the 2 hour homework club.  The hours can be worked flexibly around the homework club which is fixed.

As the Homework Club Coordinator you will create a friendly, quiet and welcoming environment for the young carers to complete their homework and think positively about their education.   You will be on hand to offer support and identify any young carers who may benefit from more intensive one to one support.

You will be the main point of contact for the project, liaising with schools, accepting new referrals, carrying out 1:1 appointments to support young carers with creating an individual learning plan as well as collecting and collating data to support project reporting.

The Young Carers Team will support and in particular you will be working closely with our with our Schools Project Officer, who will also be supporting 11-16 year olds in schools, and with the wider young carers team.

Please note this post is term time only.
