Job Description

As the Carers’ Passport Project Officer you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of this new, ambitious and high profile project.

Carers Passport project background

Carers’ Hub Lambeth is working with the Carers Collaborative Strategy Group to help make the Lambeth Carers Strategy a reality. The development and launch of a brand new Carers Passport scheme for Lambeth has been identified as a key action.   The Carers Passport will seek to:

  • Recognise unpaid carers and their vital contribution to our community

  • Raise awareness of caring within our community

  • Identify a greater number and broader range of carers, reaching more carers at the beginning of their caring journey before reaching crisis point

  • Connect carers to local support and information to help their caring role, reduce isolation, combat the financial strain of caring and improve carer health and wellbeing

The Carers Passport will be a community scheme run in partnership by Carers’ Hub Lambeth and Age UK Lambeth. The Carers Passport will be open to unpaid carers living in, or caring for someone in the borough of Lambeth. On registering, carers will receive:

  • A carers discount card providing access to discounts from participating local businesses (the discount scheme will be run by Age UK Lambeth).

  • A package of information to support their caring role,  including signposting to local services, peer support groups, training,  social activities, as well as engagement and co-production opportunities.

Your role

  • Promoting the Carers Passport via extensive community outreach and forging strong partnerships with local stakeholders across health, social care, voluntary sectors and wider community to raise awareness and secure sign-ups from carers to meet project targets

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of a package of up-to-date information for carers including signposting information to local services, peer support groups, training, emergency planning and social activities

  • Providing first class customer service to carers throughout the sign-up process and encouraging their involvement in workshops to shape project delivery

  • Project administration to support the smooth delivery of the project including collecting and collating data and case studies to support monitoring and evaluation and coordinating meetings

This will be a high profile, brand new project and as such, you will have the opportunity to put your stamp on it, test out and implement new ideas and be involved with Lambeth's carers' strategy.
