Job Description

As the Project Coordinator you will take the lead role in delivering the Lambeth Young Carers’ Schools Project over the next 3 years. The project has three core elements:

  • A programme of awareness raising in schools resulting in an increase in referrals of young carers, identified carer leads and policies in place
  • A programme of peer support groups for young carers to meet and support each other, make friends and reduce the sense of isolation through facilitated group work
  • 1:1 support with young carers from families with the most complex needs

Young carers are navigating their way through complex sets of circumstances and this project is their opportunity to access additional support and reduce the negative impact of the caring role on their education. These intiatives will also increase awareness of the issues they face and help us develop lasting support.

The project will work with secondary school children aged 11 - 16 who are from low income households.

If you are looking for a fast paced, rewarding project that will make a lasting difference to young carers, we would love to hear from you.
