CARERS SUPPORT ADVISOR
Hours: 22 hours, 3 days per week (One of your working days will be Monday or Friday)
Salary: £22,269 per annum (FTE for 37 hours a week) £13,241 (pro rata 22 hours).
We are looking for a reliable and committed person to be part of our team providing information, advice and emotional support to carers. You will need to work collaboratively with colleagues and other organisations to achieve this. Experience of providing such support is essential and prior working with carers desirable.
This role is based mainly in our Hertford office (in line with Government Covid guidelines) and will be working with a team of nine Carers Support Advisors and volunteers. Telephone caseload work is primarily undertaken from the office, with some remote home working.
Part of the role will also include undertaking talks and presentations to both promote and raise awareness of the service and our organisation. You will need to be prepared to travel and undertake various duties supporting carers in the community including supporting Carers in Hertfordshire’s Hubs and Forums which continue to be developed.
You will be required to manage and prioritise your workload, work independently and record information, including using our in-house database, for which training will be provided.
You should be confident in speaking with a wide range of people at any level. As a number of calls we receive are from distressed people, you will need to have emotional resilience and be able to remain calm under pressure.
The information and carer planning service is continuing to develop and broaden its role for carers so this is an exciting time to be joining the team and the organisation. We are looking for keen, enthusiastic new staff to further enhance the service.
