Carers in Hertfordshire is a well-respected, independent, carer-led charity, established in 1995. The charity works to ensure that all Hertfordshire’s unpaid family carers are recognised, valued and supported in their caring role and have the opportunity for a life outside caring and can exercise a collective voice in the county.

We are looking for a confident and outgoing person to take on the role of Carers Involvement and Development worker within our Involvement team.

This role supports and enables unpaid carers to speak up about the issues that are important to them, particularly in relation to mental health and drug and/or alcohol misuse.  It will primarily cover parts of North and East Hertfordshire, although the post holder will be required to work across the County on occasions.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and an understanding of carers needs.

A good standard of IT Skills is required, including use of databases, MS office and the internet.  You will need the ability to travel independently, have access to a car and have a valid driving license.
