Job description

Caring For Life is a Christian Charity based in North Leeds.  The Charity provides therapeutic projects for vulnerable adults on its farm, located at Crag House Farm.

The role of Equestrian Pastoral Support Worker will involve normal equestrian duties, but the purpose of the project is to share the love of Jesus & to provide a therapeutic environment where beneficiaries are able to relate to horses & ponies, working alongside them enabling the maximum therapeutic value.

You will be training the beneficiaries in caring for the horses and in doing so helping them to grasp the importance of caring for others. This helps in teaching them the importance of kindness, gentleness & firmness caring for the horses. Other duties will be teaching good housekeeping & the importance of diet in feeding them, teaching personal care and hygiene with regular grooming, teaching health & safety awareness through safe handling. Professional training will be offered in order for the successful candidate to be able to work toward the attainment of any relevant qualifications with project users as appropriate.

Application Instructions

Whilst we will view CV's sent though Charity Jobs, we require an application form to be filled and returned before the deadline. This is available by emailing Buffy Parkinson via the link provided. Applications will then be shortlisted and an interview stage will follow this process.
