About the role

The HR and volunteer co-ordinator will work alongside the Head of People to deliver on key focus areas: 

  • Developing and supporting in the delivery of our volunteer strategy
  • Well-being strategy 
  • Plans for reward and recognition. You will also provide general operational HR support to the team.

As part of the People Team, you will be based in St Ives, with some travel to our other offices in Peterborough and Norfolk.

Key accountabilities of the role

Responsible for driving and co-ordinating the recruitment of volunteers and supporting them to on-board with relevant teams

Support with employee/volunteer relations issues, including meetings and policy implementation

Support in driving new initiatives to include employee/volunteer engagement, reward and pay and training initiatives

Play an active role in the development of our wellbeing strategy

Support in providing coaching and training to managers across the organisation, maximising individual and team potential

Support in the development, review and implementation of HR and volunteer policies and processes; development, implementation and compliance

Support the deployment of initiatives across the employee/volunteer life cycle, i.e. on-boarding, development planning, career progression and talent management, and off-boarding 

Contribute to new procedural development, improving processes and service

Work on specific projects as required

Support Learning and development requirements linked to organisational needs 

Actively track and review HR and volunteer KPIs as well as supporting in preparing reports and data 

Help develop and maintain consistent guidance, templates and frameworks on our systems, including the website 

Work with the recruitment team to ensure requirements are identified, scoped and fulfilled, participating in the process as required

Be an ambassador for cultural change, including embedding behaviours
