Voluntary Adoption Agencies, Caritas Care and Adoption Matters, both rated as ‘Outstanding ‘ by Ofsted,  have come together to form an innovative partnership to support family finding for children who wait longer for adoption, using traditional and creative methods to identify a family.

Set up with funding from DfE, the project provides services to the Regional Adoption Agencies and Local Authorities. The post holder will be employed by Caritas Care, but will work across the partnership and be expected to engage positively with our local authority colleagues. There is some flexibility regarding the location of this post.

This is an opportunity to join an innovative adoption service within an established Voluntary Adoption Agency and we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic social worker for this role. The post holder will carry out work as required to enable the agency to provide a comprehensive adoption service to children, and particularly those who wait the longest for adoption including:

  • Promoting and delivering a bespoke child centred family finding service.

  • Undertaking child specific assessments leading to linking and matching.

  • Recruitment, assessment, preparation and training of prospective adopters.

  • Carrying out assessments, implementing and co-ordinating programmes of adoption support.

  • Providing advice, guidance, support and counselling to families and their children.

We offer our social workers excellent training, professional support and development opportunities.
