The newly created post of Volunteer Coordinator will improve the promotion, recruitment, selection, induction and ongoing support for volunteers across our organisation especially in meeting the rigorous standards for safe recruitment.  Our ultimate objective is to provide a best practice approach to welcoming and supporting the contribution of volunteers.  

The role will be critical in supporting Service Managers meet their management responsibilities for volunteers and while developing our practices to ensure volunteers are motivated, nurtured and fulfilled and opportunities are inclusive.

The role will provide support to identify and develop opportunities to make volunteering within Caritas more accessible and increase the diversity of our volunteers so that they reflect the communities that we support.  Additionally to include those who have lived experience of particular challenges like homelessness, poverty or isolation in order to build confidence and develop skills and potentially to develop opportunities for corporate volunteers.

An appropriate professional qualification is required relevant to the ability to develop, co-ordinate and train volunteers along with being able to evidence sound working knowledge of current legislation as it relates to volunteering.
