Catching Lives is an independent charity aimed at supporting the rough sleepers, homeless and vulnerably housed in Canterbury and East Kent. Our vision is of a society where all are included and all, no matter how disadvantaged, can contribute.
This is a very exciting time to manage an organisation which is open to change and adapting our services to meet the ever-changing needs of our users whilst passionately maintaining our independence. Having recently celebrated our 10th anniversary, we are seeking to recruit a General Manager who can steer us into a new chapter in the charity’s history.
The General Manager is very much the face and soul of the organisation. They will be the ambassador of the charity raising awareness of the vulnerable housed and homeless and help campaign for the needs of our users and wider communities as well as seek partnerships and work with local statutory and non-statutory bodies.
This is a challenging and varied role, where every day is different from the Drop-in Centre’s day-to-day operation which is open 365 days a year, to directing volunteers, managing 16 staff members, to promoting the charity’s work in the community, to organising fundraising activities and events.
Benefits: We are a unique organisation of likeminded individuals fighting all forms of social injustice particularly concerning the vulnerably house and street homeless. Our team often go above and beyond their duties. We do not adopt a tick box statutory approach but seek to help everyone who walks through our doors no matter what. Our General Manager is key to our future success and direction. We offer a good friendly challenging culture and work environment with some flexibility to work from home.
