£30000.00-£40000.00 per annum
Job description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with a commitment to animal welfare to join our team as Centre Manager at our thriving Tyneside Centre. You will join us working 40 hours per week on a rota basis (to include weekends) and in return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £35,691.77 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of adoption and homing centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2020, despite all the challenges, we helped 126,000 cats and kittens. That's the equivalent of around 345 cats a day!

Our adoption and homing centres care for thousands of cats each year until they can find a loving new home. In 2020 27,000 cats were rehomed,15,000 of these through our hand-free homing service, and 1,900 more reunited with their owners. This success would not be possible without our dedicated team of employees and volunteers. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our centres are the face of Cats Protection and we pride ourselves on our employees providing the very best in animal welfare and customer service.

We are looking for someone who shares our values of placing cats and their welfare first, never putting a healthy cat to sleep, valuing and respecting our volunteers, supporters and employees, providing the highest quality of service and being open and honest.

Tyneside Centre in Felling, Gateshead was officially opened in July 2018 as a new-build and is the first Cats Protection purpose-built rehoming facility in the North East between neighbouring Centres in York and Glasgow. The Centre works closely with several long-established branches of volunteers, including fosterers and fundraisers and holds 42 outdoor heated pens plus a separate Isolation block. The Centre has continued to offer support and Hands-Free Homing throughout Covid-19 and aims to help 500 unwanted, abandoned or stray cats annually - including advice and support and finding those cats in need suitable homes. The successful applicant to this post will be joining a strong and caring team who have a real passion for supporting cats throughout the North East.
