Job description

Full time, 35 hours per week
Home based covering the South Wales and South Western England region
£42,778.65 pa plus excellent benefits (starting salary is subject to experience), plus a home working allowance and car scheme

There are around 11.1 million owned cats in the UK, with around a quarter of the UK population owning a cat. Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, helping an estimated 200,000 cats and kittens a year through its national network of 250 volunteer-run branches and 36 centres.

We are dedicated to helping, rescuing, re-homing and supporting cats with a vision of a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. We are an ambitious charitable organisation with a rich feline history dating back over 90 years.

We are now looking to recruit a new Regional Centre Operations Manager for our adoption and homing centres in South Wales and South Western England. Please note that eligible candidates will need to live in these areas as there will be extensive travel involved.

We are looking for an excellent leader with a proven track record of successful delivery within an operational remit.  This pivotal role will coordinate and lead on our delivery and development of Cats Protection centres within a designated region, with the aim of helping cats and raising awareness of Cats Protection.

You will provide insightful leadership, supervision and support in order to empower and develop your team of centre managers, influencing consistency and the sharing of best practice. Working closely with colleagues across the Charity you will also develop strategies to help improve engagement with our staff, volunteers, supporters and customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience and an understanding of multi-site management across a region and of developing and leading operational, cross departmental strategies and projects.  Collaboration with key stakeholders both within Cats Protection and other local organisations will be the key to success.

Experience of working within a Charity, the animal welfare sector and with volunteers is desirable but not entirely essential for this role. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, so if you think you have what it takes to make a difference then we would love to hear from you!

Please note a full, valid driving licence is required for this role, which will involve significant travel across the South Wales and South Western England regions - a degree of flexibility will therefore be required.

We also offer a range of benefits which include a generous holiday entitlement, a competitive pension offering, a private medical scheme, and a death in service scheme.

Cats Protection is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
