Engagement Officer
Salary: £24,000-£25,500 pro rata, 28 hours per week
Annual leave: 28 days per annum, excluding bank holidays (pro-rata)
Location: Healthwatch Newham, Stratford Advice Arcade, 107-109 The Grove, London E15 1HP
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly, committed Healthwatch Newham team as we develop the next stage of our programmes.
The post holder will have good community engagement experience and will be able to liaise with a range of communities and individuals in Newham, undertake community research, outreach and engagement activities including group work and involving volunteers and residents. The post holder will be motivated to research and involve residents, particularly those that are seldom-heard, and to deliver real improvements in health and social care services.
You will be part of a team that has a real say in developing health and social care services and liaises with senior professionals and clinicians to help deliver change for local people.
Background
Healthwatch Newham is part of a national network, led by Healthwatch England, and aims to enable residents to contribute to the development of and get the best from their health and social care services. We do this through outreach, engagement and delivering projects that review quality and standards.
Healthwatch Newham is part of CB Plus, an award-winning charity reaching over 1 million Londoners. CB Plus provides a number of community services, including Young People Thrive, Barnet Wellbeing Service, Enfield Connections Information and Advice and Barnet Neighbourhood Watch.
CB Plus and Healthwatch Newham, continually adapt our services and delivery to continue engaging with residents and patients, to support local services disseminate accurate information and signpost residents to relevant services and support. Engagement is being undertaken through several channels including social media platforms, online surveys and community groups. We continue to work flexibly and to review our processes to ensure we continue reaching all communities within our boroughs.
