E1, London
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Location: London, E1

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Competitive

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people, is seeking a Director of Fundraising to lead on all fundraising activities and to create meaningful and impact-focused relationships with new and key supporters to ensure long-term support.

Ever since Centrepoint was established in 1969 by an inspirational group led by Rev. Ken Leech at his church in Soho, it has been at the forefront of helping homeless young people - helping to give them the opportunity of skills, a job and an affordable home. Last year, at its 50th anniversary, the charity celebrated helping more than 150,000 people over the years and its pride in being a safe place for so many young people who have nowhere else to go.

The charity is seeking an influential leader who, through great relationship management, will focus on delivering the voluntary income that Centrepoint needs in order to fulfil its ambitious plans for young people to have a job and a home, including for capital programmes of work. The need for the charity’s services has never been more critical, given the long-term impacts of Covid-19 on our economy and young people.

As well as continuing to steer the charity’s crucial individual giving programme, the role will also need to develop other income sources, in particular corporate partnerships and philanthropy. It will also be responsible for building a high-performing team that can maximise income opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of senior management of a large fundraising team and of meeting significant targets for a wide range of fundraising activities, but most importantly in philanthropy and/or corporate partnerships. They will be experienced in relationship-building and be able to demonstrate evidence of securing transformational funding in previous workplaces.

They will also be a strategic and proactive thinker who is able to motivate and inspire their team. Being an outstanding networker, communicator and influencer is a must as is being able to represent Centrepoint at all levels, commanding respect internally and externally.

Finally, the successful candidate must share a commitment to Centrepoint’s aim to end youth homelessness for good.
