Job description

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Closing Date: Monday 16 December, noon

Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year.

A key aspect of this is the work that Centrepoint has been doing to deliver engaging employability and traineeship programs, which are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA); these courses enable unemployed young people aged 16 – 24 years, to access the training and work experience they need to secure employment. We are currently recruiting for a new trainer to join our delivery team and support the work across London.

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and tenacious individual; offering a dynamic, responsive and flexible service that works to ensure the widest range of opportunities for all young people with a focus for those who need it most.  We want to support young people by raising aspirations, achieving ambition and better integration/access of services for 16-25 year olds across London.

You will be part of a training team providing a high quality, dynamic, and responsive service across London.  The programme is target driven and you will be responsible for delivering accredited employability programmes and supporting young people to access work placements as part of a traineeship. These programmes will be provided to young people in small groups and 1:1 creatively, energetically, and with a willingness to communicate your ideas to the wider team. You will have a teaching qualification – a minimum of PTLLS / Level 3.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering on ESFA or similar funded training programmes, including group work sessions, accredited training and planned activities.  You will be used to achieving high quality standards and delivering operational targets.

What we offer in return...

In return for your efforts you’ll receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and a host of staff benefits including:

- 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days

- Excellent training package to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to build a new career

- Employer pension contributions of 4%

- Clear career progressions, linked to portfolio work, that enables movement up the pay scale

- Access to Cycle 2 Work loan scheme

- An interest-free travel loan

We seek to challenge discrimination and are committed to fairness and equality within Centrepoint. We welcome applications from anyone with direct experience of being homeless or using young people's services.
