Job description

Here at Charity Horizons we are delighted to be partnering with MAG, supporting them in their search for a Digital Fundraising and Engagement Officer. MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is a global humanitarian and advocacy charity that has one simple mission, to Save Lives and Build Safer Futures. MAG removes and destroys landmines, cluster munitions and unexploded bombs from places affected by conflict. The charity also provides education programmes enabling people to live, work and play as safely as a possible until the land is cleared. Since 1989, MAG has helped over 20 million people in 70 countries rebuild their lives and livelihoods after war and we are offering you an opportunity to be a part of that positive change.

As Digital Fundraising and Engagement Officer you will work, as part of the wider Engagement Department, to support the delivery of MAG’s digital fundraising, campaigns and engagement activity to drive online action and engagement with target audiences. In this role you will help develop compelling content targeted to resonate with different audiences across all digital and social media channels and platforms. You will also be required to ensure online and offline fundraising campaigns are integrated and digital channels are used effectively for retention and development of supporters. This role presents a chance to work in a growing and high priority area at MAG and as Digital Fundraising and Engagement Officer you will have the opportunity to have a real impact on the digital engagement of the charity.

To be considered for this role you should come to us with previous experience in either fundraising or communications. You should have some experience working on digital campaigns and possess the ability to write compelling content that can be used across various digital channels. You must be comfortable managing and growing online communities (including on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and have a good knowledge of trends and developments in social media. A confident communicator, with strong inter-personal skills, you should have the ability to work proactively and independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This really is a hugely exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and supportive team in a capacity that will allow you to have a real impact on the digital reach of the charity. MAG values it’s staff and puts huge focus on a successful work life balance so although the role is largely office based it does allow for someone to work flexibly from home and from the offices in Manchester.
