Charity Manager

Posted by Robes Project

Salary £30,000, negotiable
Location Lambeth, London, Greater London
Permanent

Job Description

Robes Project – A helping hand out of homelessness

The Robes Project is a dynamic, volunteer based charity, working hand in hand with churches across Southwark and Lambeth to offer a lifesaving provision of shelter, food and a safe space for those who find themselves homeless over the coldest winter months.

Together, we fight the dehumanising aspects of homelessness, offering hospitality and friendship to our shelter guests. Through our advice work and additional projects, we offer holistic, personalised support towards achieving sustainable longer-term outcomes in terms of housing, as well as wider goals and aspirations.

2017 marks the 10th anniversary of our charity, and the past year has been one of many exciting developments. We have doubled our capacity, operating two shelters at a time, developed our Wednesday Club into a vibrant hub for our guests and piloted the Inn from the Cold private rented sector project.

We are now looking for a Charity Manager to work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and guests of Robes to continue and perfect our work through our night shelters and other projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all current projects and the development of future initiatives. They will provide overall leadership for the staff team, our 30+ partner churches and our 1,000-strong volunteer base.

This is primarily a time of consolidation, but also a great opportunity for our new manager to form the future direction of our work.

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours a week. The job requires some evening and occasional weekend work, particularly when the shelters are running. You will be offered time off in lieu for any out of hours work.

You will be required to be “on-call” some nights and weekends during the shelter period, according to an on-call rota.

Please read the attached job description and person specification before applying.

Please use the 'Apply now' option to send us a copy of your CV and a covering letter indicating why you are suitable for the post.

Closing date for applications is 28th July

Interviews will take place w/b 7th August

Suggested start date: ASAP

Please note that this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
