Area Fundraiser - Surrey & Sussex - Children's Charity - £22-23.5k- FT, Permanent - Surrey & Sussex (Homebased)/London Office-based (then >£26.8k).
We are proud to be working with Action For Children to recruit an Area Fundraiser for their Surrey & Sussex region. This is an amazing opportunity to become part of a charity which does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children across the UK. Every year, their team changes the lives of 370,000 children, young people and their families - but for every child who needs help to get help, there's plenty more to do.
You will manage projects and activities across the region in conjunction with the Senior Fundraiser, whilst building and managing efficient and effective relationships and communications with donors and volunteers to raise funds for Action for Children as effectively as possible.
There's plenty of scope for growth and personal development within this role and the team, so we're looking for an ambitious and driven individual with a penchant for communication, relationship management and great organisational skills.
You'll need confidence in your ability to work with the local community: local corporates, individuals, local community groups and church partnership. As well as previous experience of developing and managing relevant activities or projects, and successfully communicating (both verbal and written) with a variety of audiences. You will cover Surrey and Sussex and can either be based full-time from home or their head office in Holborn (which would then include the inner London-weighting).
Ideally you will have had some professional experience of working in the charity sector, or if not, then have had fundraising or sales experience yourself. You will have a confident telephone manner and ability to approach all types of clients and community groups. We are looking for a bubbly and energetic individual, passionate about the incredible work that Action for Children does.
We actively encourage people from ethnic minorities and LGBTQ+ Individuals to apply for this role. Charity People actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion. We match charity needs with skills and experience of candidates, irrespective of age, disability (including hidden disabilities), race, religion or belief, gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, or sexual orientation. We do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater results for the charities we work with.
If you are not interested but know anyone suitable for this role then we do offer a £250 referral fee if successful.
If you'd like to be considered for this role please send your (word doc) CV to Pete. The application deadline is Midday on Monday 19th August and a cover letter and CV is necessary.
