Director of Services and Development

Full-time- Hybrid

Reports to: Chief Executive

Salary: £54k-£60k (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Charity People are delighted to be partnering with The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, to help bring on board a skilled and dedicated Director of Services and Development.

Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK's pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority, established in 1986 following the disappearance of 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh whilst at work. They work towards creating a society in which people are safer - and feel safer - from the prevalence of stalking, harassment, aggression and violence, achieved through supporting people, education and campaigning

About the role: As the charity continues its significant organisational growth, an exciting opportunity has emerged for an adept and experienced leader to propel them to the next phase. This pivotal role involves stabilising and enhancing our existing services whilst spearheading growth in strategic areas. The Director of Services and Development will provide strategic leadership, ensuring exceptional service delivery aligned with our mission and values. This role involves spearheading the development and execution of frontline services, campaigns, and fundraising efforts to secure significant funding for our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Strategy: Lead the strategic development of frontline services, staying abreast of sector developments and legal landscapes. Drive fundraising plans to secure grants and contracts for service expansion.
  • Management and Leadership: Provide strategic support, leadership, and oversight to all areas of service delivery and policy work. Work with the CEO to provide leadership, effective decision-making on crossorganisational issues, guidance, and support to the staff team. Work with the CEO to develop strategic plans that are operationalised within the portfolio.
  • Finance and Fundraising: Oversee departmental budgets, securing funding through grants and government contracts. Establish and nurture key funding relationships.
  • Service Development and Project Management: Ensure high standards across services, implementing quality assurance and robust monitoring processes.
  • Policy: Lead policy development and brief Trust representatives on pertinent policy matters.

To succeed in the role, you will need to have:

Experience of working at executive level, COO, director, including experience with responsibility for multiple departments, preferably within a charitable organisation. Track record securing substantial grants and managing complex funding streams. Demonstrable experience as a motivational leader with skills that empower and inspire teams, setting achievable aspirational priorities and goals,

Strong project management and team leadership skills with an Interest and commitment to VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) sector.
