Balham, Greater London
£35,000 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Would you like to take the lead on growing our UK and International network of Regions?

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) is both a charity and a growing membership body with over 20,000 members. Members work across a range of specialisms within the engineering sector to improve the performance of buildings. CIBSE provides guidance and information to help them to do this work more effectively.

Working alongside the CIBSE Head of Membership Services, the role will focus primarily on supporting our volunteer run regions, organising their events, meetings and promoting membership.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, confident dealing with people, with good ideas and not afraid to get stuck in!

Please see full job description attached. Whilst this is normally an office based role, due to government Covid-19 guidelines we are currently working from home.

Our Vision - Better performing buildings for society and the environment.

Our Mission - To advance and promote the art, science and practice of building services engineering, to invest in education and research, and to support our community of built environment professionals in their pursuit of excellence.

Working for CIBSE

As a growing and changing organisation, CIBSE is committed to the continuous learning and development of all staff to enable people to develop individual skills and realise their full potential.

Everyone has their own personal development plan with learning needs discussed and agreed by both the individual and the line manager, encouraging staff to take responsibility for their own learning.

CIBSE is committed to paying competitive salaries, but also recognise that many people are motivated by non-financial benefits. CIBSE, therefore, offers the following staff benefits:

  • Flexible working hours
  • 25 days holiday a year, plus three extra days given when the office closes at Christmas. An extra day is added per year of service – to a maximum of 30 days
  • Three days leave a year to volunteer for a charity of your choice
  • Childcare vouchers scheme
  • Paid eye tests
  • Season ticket loan
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Funding for job-related development plus corporate learning and development opportunities
  • In addition, CIBSE’s social club organises a range of optional social activities, which includes events throughout the year and an annual Christmas celebration.
