Job description

Wilder Childhood Officer
Salary: £20,247 - £24,365
Contract type: Permanent / Working hours: Full time
Location: Bickley Hall Farm, Malpas, SY14 8EF

Cheshire Wildlife Trust are recruiting for a Wilder Childhood Officer to support our childhood engagement projects with the goal of inspiring people to take action to bring local wildlife back.

Do you have a passion for working with children and families, inspiring them with the natural world? Are you experienced in outdoor learning? Do you want to be part of driving a movement and empowering people to take action for wildlife?

We have just the role for you.

Our wilder childhood work seeks to connect children to nature, inspiring them to care and take action to bring wildlife back. The Wilder Childhood Officer will join the Engagement Team, supporting the delivery of childhood work, including Wild Warrington, School Projects and the growth of the Wilder Schools Network. The Wilder Childhood Officer role is a hybrid of delivering outdoor sessions to children, teachers and families, as well as working behind the scenes completing administration tasks to facilitate the smooth running of projects.

Nature is in trouble. We have reached a tipping point. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and nationally and our climate is in crisis. By 2030 we must see nature recovering, wildlife returning and ecosystems restored and we need many, many more people on nature’s side. We urgently need one in four people to take action to bring wildlife back across our region.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Applications close at midnight on Monday 1st August and interviews will be held at Bickley Hall Farm on Thursday 11th August.
