Action for Stammering Children (ASC) is a well-established UK charity. We are currently embarking on a new stage of development and are looking for a dynamic chief executive to lead this exciting challenge. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills combined with hands-on delivery skills, proven experience of partnership working, and a commitment to supporting children and young people who stammer and their families. This is an ideal role for a self-motivated individual looking to make a positive impact in an important area of children’s communication, where timely intervention can be life changing.
Action for Stammering Children is the leading charity of its kind in the UK, supporting children and young people who stammer through a range of programmes, including funding therapy and training at the Michael Palin Centre in London. The new chief executive will lead the implementation of the charity's forward business plan which aims to extend the reach and impact of ASC to help more children and young people across the UK who stammer. As a small organisation, ASC seeks to leverage its impact by working closely with other organisations and groups to further its objectives and one of the key roles of the new chief executive will be to build new partnerships and develop innovative approaches to supporting children who stammer and their families across the UK. A collaborative and results-orientated approach to the role is therefore essential.
