Groundswell exists to enable homeless and vulnerable people to take more control of their lives, have a greater influence on services and to play a fuller role in the community. They have been at the forefront of creating innovative client-centred services and involvement practices within the homelessness sector for over 20 years. Our work is anchored in a set of core beliefs where homeless people are at the heart of the solutions.
Last year, Groundswell celebrated our 20th birthday and we won the prestigious King’s Fund GSK Impact Award.
Building on Groundswell’s successes and significant achievements to date, this is a unique opportunity to provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction by driving our vision and ambitious strategic plans to ensure increased impact and financial sustainability.
As our Chief Executive, you will be responsible for growing a thriving, dynamic and values-driven charity to increase reach, impact and income, by driving improvements and innovations, delivering a sustainable fundraising strategy and targeting new areas of income. Opportunities include exploring the development of significant capital asset and social investments, and strengthening partnerships with other organisations across London and beyond.
Working closely with the Board and managing a small but established and committed staff team, you will develop innovative, impactful and viable new peer support services and oversee the current delivery of over 3,500 individual engagements every year.
We are looking for a successful visionary leader who can combine excellent strategic and programmatic delivery with a natural ability to empathise and work directly with homeless and vulnerable people. With previous leadership experience, you will have the ability to translate strategic aims into practical plans, excellent communication skills, and proven ability to create a participative culture that values the contribution of all.
Critical to your success will be a genuine passion for making a difference to homeless and vulnerable people’s lives and caring passionately about the core ethos of Groundswell.
