We’re looking for a new Research Officer to support our expanding research funding activity. You’ll be overseeing the grant-making process from application through to peer review, grant awarding and beyond, including servicing our research committees. You’ll also support the development of our network of partner charities, whom we support to fund research.
You’ll have an strong understanding of how scientific research funding ‘works’, preferably in the medical/health sector, along with excellent communication skills and great organisational abilities, including being able to manage a complex workload.This new role within CCLG offers a varied scope in a growing national charity and professional association.
Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) is a leading national charity and expert voice for all childhood cancers.
Each week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer. Our network of dedicated professional members work together in treatment, care and research to help shape a future where all children with cancer survive and live happy, healthy and independent lives.
We fund and support innovative world-class research and collaborate, both nationally and internationally, to drive forward improvements in childhood cancer. Our award-winning information resources help lessen the anxiety, stress and loneliness commonly felt by families, giving support throughout the cancer journey.
This new role will support our expanding research funding activity, focusing on ensuring the highest standards in grant-making, both in CCLG-funded research, and in research funded by partner charities in the growing network of organisations we support to fund research.
