Job description

Full time, permanent post

£27,116 - £31,406 per annum

Christ’s College is seeking applications for the full time, permanent post of Fundraising (Development) Officer to support the work of the Development team.  The Development team is responsible for fundraising and alumni relations for the College.  This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in annual fund and legacy activities and work within a well-established, successful team.

The primary role of this post is to manage the College’s annual fund activity, including the annual Telephone Campaign and Giving Day, and to run the legacy programme.

The Fundraising (Development Officer) works closely with all members of the team, and will also be expected to build excellent working relationships with staff in other College departments, the Master, Fellows and students within the College, alumni around the world, Cambridge in America and the University’s Development and Alumni Relations Office.

The post requires some out-of-hours working so the ability to be flexible is important.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of the annual Telephone Campaign, alongside the Senior Development Officer;
  • Running other annual fund initiatives, such as a Giving Day, direct mail and email fundraising, to complement the Telephone Campaign;
  • Working with the Development Assistant on pledge chasing, including renewal of completed pledges;
  • Running the Christ’s College Fisher Society (legacy programme);
  • Working on fundraising and stewardship publications, and writing articles for The Magazine and Pieces where appropriate;
  • Working with other members of the team on stewardship of donors;
  • Working with the Alumni Communications Officer to maximise the fundraising impact of social media;
  • Organising fundraising and cultivation events as required;
  • Representing the College at events;
  • Updating the fundraising-related webpages;
  • Supporting the work of other members of the team as appropriate;
  • Other work as determined by the Development Director.
