About the role

This post may be based in Belfast or Dublin and will include some home based working, to be agreed with the line manager.

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Officer will be a key member of the

Fundraising & Supporter Engagement Team, responsible for the effective implementation of the

Christian Aid Ireland Fundraising Strategy. Working alongside the Digital Marketing Manager, the post

holder will contribute their expertise in digital fundraising, digital marketing to achieve Christian Aid

Ireland's aims and key outcomes as listed below.

-Integrated fundraising campaigns are delivered on time and

-Product and appeals are visible online and drive traffic and conversion

-Digital channels are embedded appropriately in all fundraising and marketing plans and supporter journeys

-CA offers integrated, 21st century supporter experience

-New digital technologies, channels and approaches are introduced and tested

-Analytic reports are provided on all activity

-CA's response to humanitarian crises is digital first: quick to market, lean and iterative

About you

Applied skills/knowledge and expertise


· Third level qualification with marketing and digital specialisms or equivalent professional experience in the field

· Proven experience in building and deploying integrated marketing campaigns

· Proven experience in building and deploying Email campaigns for warm and cold audiences

· Proven experience in digital marketing campaigns

· Proven experience of social marketing

· Experience of integrated marketing communications, developments and new media technologies

· Familiarity with web-based and other digital methods of communication

· Good understanding of balanced needs to build relationships with supporters and achieve specific response targets

· Evidenced based and data driven approach by default

· Good time management and organisational skills

· Collaborative approach


· An understanding of working with church audiences and the nuances of this supporter demographic

· Understanding of legal requirements linked to fundraising and data protection

· Knowledge of and/or interest in international development and Christian Aid's work

· Video creation

This role requires applicants to have the right to work in the country where this position is based.

From 1 July 2021, the process for completing right to work checks has changed and we can no longer accept EU passports or ID cards as valid proof of right to work, with the exception of Irish citizens.

There are now two types of right to work checks: a manual check and an online check. A manual check can be completed against relevant documentation as outlined by the Home Office. An online check can be completed if you hold digital proof of your immigration status in the UK. We will require your share code and date of birth to carry out this check. All successful candidates will require either a Basic or Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service certificate (DBS) and a Counter Terrorism Sanction check as part of your clearance for commencing your role with us. Information will be forwarded to you by the HR team with your offer.
