About the role

The Individual Retention Officer's purpose is to develop and manage fundraising projects targeted at Christian Aid's individual supporters. Projects will include cash and stewardship appeals within the retention programme. You will lead on assigned marketing campaigns which aim to develop, retain, convert and upgrade supporters, and ensure they are effectively managed, reported on and evaluated for future campaigns. You will deliver projects within the agreed budget, KPI's and time frames. For campaigns you'll identify and target individuals using data and analysis. You'll ensure that internal and external stakeholders are briefed appropriately.

About you


-Knowledge of successful fundraising and direct marketing methods and techniques with specific background and knowledge in acquisition of new supporters.

-Detailed knowledge of using databases for effective marketing.

-Understanding of legal requirements linked to direct marketing/fundraising and data protection.

-Relevant experience of direct marketing in the voluntary or commercial sector.

-Experience in project managing direct marketing campaigns.

-Experience of working with creative agencies and other suppliers.

-Experience in working closely with digital marketing and scrum methodology

-Ability to assess creative work and edit copy for offline and online campaigns

-Excellent negotiating and briefing skills for work with agencies and teams within Christian Aid.

-Ability to work cross organisationally.


-Educated to a Bachelor Degree or equivalent professional experience

-Qualifications in Marketing, Statistics, International Development or English would be advantageous.

-A strong interest and/or knowledge in international development

-Knowledge of the Church constituency, international development issues and campaigning.
