About us

Christian Aid believes that everyone, regardless of faith or race, is entitled to live a full life, free from poverty. We believe in tackling the root causes of poverty, not just the symptoms. And we believe the world can and must be changed so there is equality, dignity and freedom for all. If you're as driven as we are to make this change happen, and want to inspire others to help make it happen, then join us.

About the role

This role sits within the Legacy Marketing team. The Legacy team is responsible for circa £12 million legacy income, and circa £250K in memory income per annum - as such this role is key in supporting the team to reach ambitious income targets, and in fostering excellent relationships with supporters who give gifts in memory, and who choose to leave gifts to Christian Aid in their Will.

As first point of contact in the team, the post holder will have a very warm, sensitive approach to communicating with supporters of Christian Aid, and will provide robust admin support to the team. In this busy team the post holder will ensure prompt, accurate and individualised thanking of donors for gifts given in memory, and deal with supporter queries over the telephone, by email and by post. The post holder will be process driven, responsible for ensuring that all team processes, legacy team files, and the supporter database are updated accurately and within agreed team timelines. Where appropriate this role will also support the Legacy Marketing Officer with tasks pertaining to specific marketing projects.

About you

Educated to at least 'A' level standard or equivalent, extremely competent in Microsoft Word and Excel, including spread sheet manipulation and mail merges. You will be an organised, experienced administrator and have excellent written English. You will be a clear and articulate communicator, comfortable dealing with sensitive issues on the phone.
