About us

Christian Aid exists to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. We are a global movement of people, churches and local organisations who passionately champion dignity, equality and justice worldwide. We are the changemakers, the peacemakers, the mighty of heart.

Christian Aid (CA) is an international NGO, partnering with others to provide humanitarian relief, long-term development and advocacy for poverty eradication. Christian Aid believes in life before death, working for and with people of all faiths and none. Founded in 1945, we currently work in over 20 countries mostly in Africa, Asia/Latin America and the Middle East, providing support for poor communities while highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing people's rights. At the heart of our vision is the transformation of the lives of people who live in poverty, empowering them to have a brighter future. We do this by tackling both the causes and the symptoms of poverty so that everyone can feel loved, achieve equality, dignity, justice and freedom.
