About the role

This role supports the work of The Big River volunteer programme to deliver volunteer involvement and activity across the organisation. This post is based within the People Team and has particular responsibility for volunteer communications and enquiries, administration of volunteer processes and provides a point of contact for volunteers based in Christian Aid's Head Office in London.

We want to ensure that volunteers are supported and enabled to use their skills, time and experience in a way that creates real impact and provides a positive and meaningful experience for them. And, that staff feel empowered to work alongside volunteers and benefit from the value that they bring.

The post is line managed and supported by the UK Volunteering Manager. From time to time the post holder will be required to support projects such as National Volunteers Week.

About you

The applicant will hold excellent administrative skills and experience and be able to demonstrate great written and spoken communication skills over telephone and email. We are looking for someone with a passion for volunteering and an interest in building knowledge of the area, as well the commitment and flexibility to work well within the volunteering team whilst supporting staff and volunteers across the organisation. You will need great organisation skills and be proficient in using the Microsoft Office systems.
