Temple Church is located in the Temple, City of London. The Church serves the legal colleges (Inns of Court) of Inner and Middle Temple, and serves members of the Inns and their families, London’s residents, visiting jurists and travellers from all over the world through the provision of some of the most uplifting services, music and discussions in London. Inner and Middle Temple have established a new registered charity, Temple Church Trust (Reg no 1205712), to maintain the Church, support its choristers and professional musical team, and develop its charitable activities. In advance of the Trust becoming operational in the summer, the Temple Church Committee wishes to appoint the first Chief Executive Officer of the Trust.
The role:
The CEO will be expected to lead and coordinate an established team of full-time and part-time staff; manage the Church’s multifaceted stakeholder network; ensure close control and management of the Church’s resources; and represent the Church and its work to the two Inns and externally so that the Church can function effectively and plan confidently for the future. The CEO will also be responsible for the Church's sensitive commercial development through the Trust’s wholly-owned commercial subsidiary company.
What we need:
You will be an excellent leader with effective interpersonal skills. Your recent experience will be at the director level or equivalent in the third sector, public sector, military or commerce. You will have a proven track record of leading or significantly contributing to the leadership of an organisation similar in size and complexity to the Temple Church. Proven experience in managing and delivering projects and income generation is essential. You should demonstrate a commitment to learning and development and sympathy for the mission and values of the Church of England.
What we offer:
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of £75,000. Benefits include a generous non-contributory defined contribution pension scheme, private health care, and 25 days’ annual leave (plus public holidays).

We are looking for an experienced CEO or senior charity manager, able to manage the business functions of a charity that is just starting out. You will have a proven track record of managing a small, prosocial organisation and setting up the systems necessary for success. This means ensuring best practice is observed and maintained in these and related areas, including line management, service policy, financial management, safeguarding and data privacy.
Knowledge and/or lived experience of mental health difficulties and the relevant support services/treatment modalities is essential; experience working within the mental health sector is highly desirable. About the role.
As a member of the Cathedral Leadership Team and as the senior operational manager of Wells Cathedral, the COO is responsible for the delivery of the Chapter’s strategy and plans and for the day-to-day coordination of operations in the context of the ministry and mission of the Cathedral. Reporting to the Dean of Wells and accountable to the Chapter of Wells Cathedral, this is a full-time role which requires a presence onsite to carry out the duties effectively. The Chapter is the Board of Trustees for the Cathedral. It is the administrative body of the cathedral with the ultimate responsibility for directing and overseeing its affairs. They, alongside the COO, set the strategic direction for the Cathedral.
The principal responsibilities of the COO are to:
- Provide leadership to the operational departments that align with the Chapter’s overall strategic vision and objectives.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the Cathedral’s operational departments and associated staff.
- Lead, manage and motivate the Cathedral’s staff and its volunteers.
- Maintain and strengthen the Cathedral’s financial position in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer.
- Represent the Cathedral on external bodies and occasions as required.
- Be aware of and actively participate in the life of the Cathedral and its worship.
Who we are looking for.
As a natural leader, the next COO should be authentic in their leadership and team-management skills, building trust quickly to lead the organisation in the context of some demanding priorities. Motivationally inspiring, wise in kindness, and with a values-led approach, the next COO should be experienced in people management and able to forge strong connections. They must be mindful of creating a healthy culture as well as delivering against the strategy. Open and transparent, the next COO needs to be a relationship builder engaging with the community beyond the Cathedral and building on existing partnerships.
A person of integrity and agility, the next COO should be skilled in managing several projects at once, balancing the need for involvement at both high and detailed levels. Wells Cathedral’s next COO should be comfortable managing the day-to-day operations of the Cathedral, a complex estate with multiple services, events and activities in a weekly busy programme. With an empathetic servant leader approach, they will work in sympathy with the values and Christian foundation, able to influence staff and volunteers in a collegiate and timely manner.
With extensive experience working with a variety of stakeholders across organisations, they should have the vision to lead as well as the ability to work as a member of the wider team. Similarly, they must have the capacity to support areas of work outside of their specialism, facilitating and supporting their team in key decisions. The next COO needs to be agile in their approach and adapt to developing, changing, and sometimes conflicting priorities, bringing their team with them. They should have a good track record of managing a healthy organisation and setting and maintaining clear and achievable standards and goals.
Displaying analytical skills, including financial literacy and commercial acuity, they will demonstrate thorough financial planning, budgeting, and reporting and have a proven track record in driving financial sustainability.

The Trumpington Affordable Food Club Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the food hub and its team of volunteers, including presence at the food hub on Friday mornings, and transforming it into a Fairbite Affordable Food Club (Social Supermarket).
Organisation of the Food Hub:
- Prepare inductions for new volunteers
- Coordinating weekly volunteer collections of supplies from supermarkets.
- Attend coordination meetings for the Cambridge-wide Fairbite network.
Friday sessions at Trumpington Pavilion:
- Prepare a weekly rota of volunteers.
- Work with Pavilion staff and volunteers to open and close the venue for Friday sessions.
- Organise with volunteers the setting up of the hall and kitchen, operation of the sessions, and clearing away at the end of the sessions, including basic cleaning, so that the Pavilion is ready for subsequent users.
- Work with Pavilion staff to ensure that food safety procedures are implemented.
Maintain records and spreadsheets:

Finance and stock

We are praying for a talented Director of Finance, Property and IT to join our Leadership Team. You will be inheriting a skilled and diverse team across the finance, property and IT functions, with the possibility to grow this team, as needed, to fulfil your responsibilities.

We are seeking a Director of Product Development (DPD) to catalyse the further growth of the ministry. his individual will be able to evidence high-level strategic thinking and be comfortable delivering campaigns when required. War Child UK run multiple large scale appeals, events and initiatives across the year targeting a diverse range of audiences.
Some of the key responsibilities:
- Leading on strategically planned engagement and growth across all our communications audiences, channels and initiatives. Including defined communications moments, brand engagement, UK advocacy communications and cross departmental campaigns.
- Own War Child UK’s voice and brand, providing consistency in tone and messaging across all channels and ensuring that our voice and brand is engaging to our wide range of audiences
- Lead on creating and assessing opportunities for cross departmental communications campaigns to increase fundraising and/or brand awareness, including overarching narratives and key campaigns each year
- To provide first-rate line management to the Communications & Content team and line manage the Marketing Lead and PR Manager. You will model excellence in management that will result in the team thriving in their roles, with high standards of performance and behavior, and team members that are developed to achieve their best, whilst maintaining strong wellbeing. As a Head of, you will model these high standards of performance and behavior to support the Fundraising Engagement Director and other functions across War Child UK.
- Use your experience to provide insight and recommendations to the Fundraising Engagement Director and War Child UK CEO when communications decisions are needed
- In most instances you will be accountable for the successful delivery of campaigns led by others in your team, in some instances – including cross departmental communications campaigns - you will lead on end to end delivery
You will be:
- Strategic, with experience of designing and delivering communications strategies across a wide portfolio
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence to deal with a variety and internal and external stakeholders and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- A diverse knowledge of communications delivery, with the ability to transfer this knowledge and adapt your experience to different audiences, objectives and campaigns
- Experience of team resource and people management and able to delegate tasks in a clear and concise manner.
- A clear understanding of the importance of brand behaviour and having a strong tone of voice. You are able to use this to instil ways of working across an organisation to achieve success
- Able to set up and manage a successful press function
- Experience of policy and advocacy initiatives, delivering public facing advocacy campaigns and getting traction in the media
- Experience of humanitarian emergencies and managing a media responses to work for a UK market.
