An opportunity to lead and shape the activites of a new and ambitious Christian organisation working for a fairer and more effective tax system. Church Action for Tax Justice (CATJ) is an ecumenical, campaigning organisation which believes that Christians as individuals and as churches, should challenge the injustice within the global tax system.
This is a part time role, 21 hours per week. Please read the supporting documents carefully and ensure you address the person specification in your cover letter. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
CATJ's objectives are:
To raise awareness: throughout Churches and faith communities of the fundamental relationship between taxation, public services and a cohesive society, and the urgent need for Tax Justice at national and international level.
To campaign: for transparency in the tax affairs of both corporations and wealthy individuals, seeking the maximum visibility especially with regard to their activities in secrecy jurisdictions.
To stimulate public debate: about the society we wish to live in, and a proper and fair tax system which could deliver it.
To encourage: Christian and other faith bodies to promote Tax Justice through their education and mission work, and their financial and investment policies.
