We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Manager, a qualified accountant, ideally CPFA, to join our respected Policy and Technical team. This position plays a key national role in contributing to a proactive programme of technical development which positions CIPFA as a leading provider of public financial management expertise.
Technical Manager Responsibilities:
- Being a central focus for CIPFA’s activities around public service financial reporting including local government accounting, charity accounting and the development of International Financial Reporting for Not for Profit Organisations (#IFR4NPO) a project supported by the Ford Foundation and Open Society.
- Providing professional secretariat support to the CIPFA / LASAAC Local Government Code Board, LASAAC and input into the Charities Commission and Office of the Scottish Regulator as the joint SORP-setting body for Charities in the UK and the secretariat function of the Charities SORP Committee.
- Providing technical support directly to stakeholders responding to developments in accounting practice.
Technical Manager Requirements:
You will be dynamic, confident, and driven with excellent interpersonal skills. You will have technical expertise and practical experience of supporting communities of professional practice.
As well as contributing to the development of international standards, we provide specific support to standard setting in local government, accounting, charities accounting, internal audit and public financial management and governance.

Location: Flexible - London, Chester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
Job type: Full time, Permanent, 36 hours per week
Salary: up to £56,000 per annum
