Citizens Advice Bedford (CAB) is an independent charity and a member of national Citizens Advice. CAB is responsible for providing advice to all residents with-in Bedford Borough and Money Advice to Central Bedfordshire. CAB sees approx. 10,000 people every year, is continuously expanding and is placed in the top 5% for quality of advice it gives to clients.
About the Role
CAB is seeking a trainee candidate who will demonstrate they have the capacity and drive to undertake comprehensive learning in order to provide debt support, money advice and financial capability for one of our debt contracts. It is an exciting role helping people, often those at greatest risk of vulnerability to maximise their income and minimise their expenditure.
The successful candidate will assist clients with a broad range of often complex Universal Credit, debt & housing problems and will advise on budgeting, prioritisation and income maximisation. There will be targets to meet and caseloads to manage.
You may have an advice background or come from an unrelated industry looking for a change in direction. What's really important is your ability to absorb information and put into practise what you've learned. You will be a stickler for detail/accuracy & efficiency. You will have a high standard of written English and enjoy being part of a close knit team. A good attitude to hard work, enjoy learning and able to take constructive feedback is a must.
The use of a car and valid licence is a requirement of this role as you may deliver across Bedford Borough and throughout Central Bedfordshire
During the interview procedure, you will sit an assessment to ascertain your suitability for training.
