Job description

Citizens Advice Bedford is the leading provider of advice services to residents in Bedford Borough.

Citizens Advice Bedford is looking for a Trainee Welfare Benefits Caseworker to work as part of a diverse and well used service, providing advice and assistance to service users with welfare benefit issues.

After training you will provide a welfare benefits advice service to people with the aim of maximising their income. The post holder will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlement to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help. Casework will include making applications, as well as all aspects of welfare benefit challenges and appeals.

To be successful in this role you will highlight your basic subject knowledge of benefits and the types of benefit issues that may arise through a written assessment conducted at the interview stage. You will possess excellent client care skills and the ability to undertake intensive training, learn quickly and the ability to put this into practice.
